Ohio Holds May Primary with Statewide Decisions

(Columbus, OH) Northwest Ohio voters are going to the polls today.

The ballot includes the Republican primary for governor between Attorney General Mike DeWine and Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor.  Democrats have a four-way race for their party's nomination, led by former federal consumer watchdog Richard Cordray and former Congressman Dennis Kucinich.

The GOP ballot also includes the contested primary for U.S. Senate, between Congressman Jim Renacci and Cleveland businessman Mike Gibbons.

A change to the Ohio Constitution is on today's ballot.  Voters are being asked to support Issue One, a bipartisan measure that would change the way the state's congressional districts are drawn up. Supporters say the amendment would stop gerrymandering, the manipulation of district maps along party lines.

Polls will be open across Ohio from until 7:30 p.m.
