(Toledo, OH) The biggest week in American birding is well underway across Northwest Ohio.
The Lake Erie shoreline is now filled with people photographing and observing a variety of birds perched on trees. So far, 34 varieties of birds have been spotted at the location. The birds are heading north after being in Central and South America.
Over 90,000 birders are expected from all fifty states, 52 countries and six continents are expected to frequent the area throughout the week.
The new Howard Marsh Metropark is already proving to be a popular birdwatching site after just opening late last month.
