Former UT QB to Speak at Graduation Ceremony

(Toledo, OH) A University of Toledo football legend will address Rocket graduates this weekend.

Former Rocket quarterback Chuck Ealey led his team to a 35-0 record in three years under center at the University of Toledo, leading the team to a trio of top 20 finishes in the polls and even finishing eighth in Heisman Trophy balloting his senior season.

Ealey then became a legend in the Canadian Football League as a pro, winning a Grey Cup championship in 1972 as the league MVP. He played for three CFL teams in his seven seasons as a pro quarterback, then hung up his helmet for a long and successful career as a financial planner.

He recently left his role as a business executive to do more client and corporate coaching and spend more time with the nonprofit foundation that bears his name. He'll speak Saturday at commencement exercises in the Glass Bowl, then receive an honorary doctor of humane letters from his alma mater.
