(Perrysburg Twp., OH) Employment at a Perrysburg Township distribution center could soon top 1,000 people.
The Walgreens distribution center is proposing to add 350 new jobs if Perrysburg Township trustees approve a 15-year, 100 percent tax abatement. A proposed enterprise zone agreement also would retain 683 current jobs at the regional warehousing site along state route 795 and Oregon Road.
The Wood County Economic Development Commission put together the jobs-and-tax-incentive package with the drug store chain.
A site plan already has been approved for a distribution center expansion project, which would have an annual payroll that tops $15 million when finished.
