(Toledo, OH) The University of Toledo is hosting an opioid summit today.
UT researchers, physicians and community partners will meet with state leaders, hoping to advance collaborations to help address the opioid epidemic gripping Ohio.
The medical director of the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services will tlak about strategic priorities and funding opportunities, while there will be panel discussions involving the Governor’s Cabinet Opiate Action Team and the Ohio Departments of Health and Medicaid.
UT will tout the work of its cross-diciplinary teams trying to find innovative solutions to address and prevent new users from forming addictions; developing methods for greater access to treatment and preventing the likelihood of relapse after treatment.
