(Dayton, OH) The future of a West Toledo Elder-Beerman store could be known later today.
The Dayton-based retailer's parent company will be on the auction block, with some would-be buyers wanting to stay in business and others with sights on liquidating the company.
Liquidation would likely cause hundreds of jobs to be lost if Elder-Beerman closes, including dozens at the Westgate store. That would add to a retail void in the Westgate area, with Sears already shut down.
