(Toledo, OH) A Lucas County judge is being forced to decide who fills a seat on the Washington Local school board.
The school board deadlocked on choosing a replacement for Patrick Hickey last night, sending the choice to the probate court.
Hickey resigned from the school board last month after he was charged for nearly 30-year-old sexual misconduct claims while teaching in Michigan.
Now Judge Jack Puffenberger must sift through the qualifications of a multitude of candidates seeking to replace the controversial former superintendent on the board of education. But the judge is not limited to those who applied.
Under state law, 30 days must go by before the judge names anyone, so a replacement won't come until after April 19th.
