Ohio Rejoins National Governor's Association

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Governor's office has re-entered the National Governor's Association, but at a hefty price.

It's costing $88,000 for Governor John Kasich's office to restore its membership to the National Governor's Association. It's being seen by political minds as a way to increase Kasich's credibility for deal-making ahead of a potential 2020 bid for the presidency. Governor Kasich dropped Ohio's membership to that coalition seven years ago because of state budget concerns. Membership is said to help with political negotiations on issues like health care, immigration and guns.
