(Perrysburg, OH) Homeowners in Perrysburg will get a two-year tax break after an overcollection of school taxes.
According to the Wood County auditor, the overcollection of Perrysburg school taxes was inadvertent, but resulted in two million dollars too much paid to the district.
Perrysburg schools is supposed to get a fixed sum every year--13 million dollars. The overcollection means the owner of a $200,000 home paid $120 too much.
That will be refunded by not collecting as much from property owners-- about $60 annually over the next two years.
