(Toledo, OH) Toledo City Council will meet tonight with the city's budget on their agenda.
Council is expected to approve the $255 million spending plan after five months of review.
A budget task force spent several weeks tweaking the budget to find areas of savings and put more money into the neighborhoods. Some of the freed-up cash will pay for more road repairs and new police and firefighters.
Councilman Tom Waniewski served on a budget oversight task force which cut borrowing from the capital improvements fund by nine million dollars, but says he would have rather seen a zero-sum game.
