(Columbus, OH) The Republican race for governor is starting to get a bit ugly.
The campaign for Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor has launched a website attacking the record of her GOP gubernatorial rival, attorney general Mike DeWine.
The website essentially expands Taylor’s attacks against DeWine’s long record in elective office, including as a U.S. senator. Taylor has criticized DeWine and running mate, secretary of state Jon Husted as establishment Republicans-- and part of the problem with the current divisive political climate.
The website decries what a campaign spokesman calls DeWine’s liberal record on the conservative issues.
DeWine’s campaign counters that Taylor has resorted to gutter politics, false accusations and name-calling."
