(Toledo, OH) This is a big day for University of Toledo medical students.
Today marks Match Day, where fourth-year medical students will hold their future in a sealed envelope. Dozens of students will get their white coats at Stranahan Theater’s Great Hall during a reception, then at high noon, they'll open envelopes to find out where they'll spend their residencies.
Students previously listed their preferences based on a future medical specialty, but a destination is decided by a computer match based on an algorithm.
Some students will stay in Toledo, but most are headed to far-flung hospitals.
