Naloxone Training Sessions Set for Libraries

(Toledo, OH) Public health officials want to enlist more people in the local fight against the opioid epidemic.

The Toledo-Lucas County health department begins the first in a series of training sessions for the public, offering a lesson in how to administer naloxone-- the medication designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose.

Harbor Behaviorial Health educators also will give participants awareness and education training on the opiate epidemic and its effects in metro Toledo. The hope is to convince more family and friends to be ready in the event they witness a heroin overdose. \

The one-hour training session starts at noon today at the main library in dowtown Toledo. Other training sessions are scheduled through the end of summer at various suburban library branches.
