TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library announced Tuesday that the Main Library will be closing later this year for renovations.
The project is slated to begin this September and will close the main branch for 10-12 months. The work will include updating and increasing technology resources for customers and expanding multi-function and meeting room spaces. The cafe, gallery and gift shop will also be relocated.
The Library says that closing the Main Library during the project will allow the renovations to get done faster, taking about a year instead of 16 months. It will close to the public after Labor Day and won't offer any public programming or services until the project is complete.
Passport services will be available at the Sylvania branch and at a central city branch location yet to be determined.
