(Toledo, OH) Major repairs to the Anthony Wayne Trail will begin a year ahead of schedule.
Toledo city officials announced Tuesday plans to begin an overhaul of the pothole-packed main drag this summer. The work was originally scheduled to begin in 2019, but the Ohio Department of Transportation is making funding available now.
But the Trail will need a complete rebuild, because there's concrete underneath the pavement that expands and contracts during warm-cold cycles, causing many of the deep craters and potholes that have frustrated drivers for several winters.
