Ohio Capital Budget Partly Funds Region Requests

posted by News Radio 1370 WSPD & 92.9-FM -

(Columbus, OH) Northwest Ohio only receives a fraction of its requests in the new state capital budget. \

Regional leaders submitted 30 brick-and-mortar projects to be included in the two-year capital budget proposal, but many of those requests only received partial funding.

Officials requested $10 million dollars toward renovations to the Seagate Convention Center, but will receive $500,000. The Toledo Museum of Art will receive $1 million  for planned renovations, but asked for five times that amount.

Imagination Station is set to get $1 million for a large-screen theater, one third of its ask.

State lawmakers are scaling back the amount available for community-based projects.
