(Gibsonburg, OH) A proposed Northwest Ohio medical marijuana growing operation is getting a local tax break.
Gibsonburg village officials have reached an enterprise zone agreement with Standard Wellness, offering a 75 percent property tax abatement over the next decade, with the blessing of Sandusky County commissioners.
The medical marijuana cultivator plans to spend more than $7 million on a building at a Gibsonburg industrial park, while employing over 40 people at an annual payroll approaching $2 million.
Standard Wellness has a state license to grow medicinal pot and has agreed to keep employment levels intact over the next ten years.
