(Columbus, OH) An Ohio gun-rights group says it's taking action in the wake of school shootings like last week's tragedy in Florida.
The president of the Buckeye Firearms Association bristles at claims no one's doing anything about gun violence. The gun rights group points out it has provided free training to more than 1,300 teachers to date, with 400 more educators set to go through a training course yet this year.
So far, educators in 76 of Ohio's 88 counties have received its so-called FASTER training, designed to address violence in schools.
In a statement, the head of the Buckeye Firearms Association contends bashing of gun rights groups is just a political fundraising tactic with mid-term elections coming soon.
