TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo Police Department has decided to disband the department's Motorcycle Unit.
TPD says the decision was made as the unit's ten Harley Davidson motorcycles were in need of replacement. After evaluating the replacement costs, along with concerns over efficiency and officer safety, the Department decided to disband the unit.
The Department says they will keep the bikes in storage and they will consider their periodic use in special and community events.
