(Toledo, OH) ) Plans are being crafted to open a community center for Toledo's LGBT community.
Equality Toledo launched discussions Sunday about opening a home for social activities and other resources, such as a food pantry, health services, suicide prevention, somehwere along Adams Street.
The group says the center is necessary after a church bought the former Bretz Nightclub, which was the oldest gay club in Ohio. Equality Toledo leaders are concerned about the ‘Greater Toledo House of Prayer’ and the church's reputation for being anti-gay.
Church leaders say they bought the former nightclub because it needed more space and the club was available to meet its needs.
