The Washington Local School Board voted to ask board member Patrick Hickey to step down in a special session held today.
Hickey was recently elected as a board member, but faces reopened investigations into his past conduct while teaching at Addison High School. Michigan State Police are investigating allegations of sexual assault that took place with one of Hickey's students. Hickey denies any wrongdoing.
Thursday's special meeting was held to address the newly reopened investigation. Hickey was not in attendance, not was fellow board member Lisa Canales. Members Tom Ilstrup, Dave Hunter, and Mark Hughes
