Personal Product Donation Drive Begins Today

(Sylvania, OH)  A campaign begins today in Sylvania to restock local charities' shelves with personal care items.

Sylvania Franciscan Village will begin its Have a Heart restock drive today with the hope of helping local outreach pantries. Individuals can drop off unused personal care items at donation boxes throughout the community, including at Lourdes University, Sylvania schools and Flower Hospital.

The collection will run for the next two weeks. The donation drive will help a half-dozen outreach groups whose stock of deodorant, soap and shampoo dropped sharply after the holidays.

Recipients will include soup kitchens, food pantries, refugee relief agencies and homeless shelters in Toledo and Sylvania.

The group emphasizes that low-income families and the homeless frequently get meal or food assistance, but items to keep themselves clean  often get overlooked.
