(Toledo, OH) Critics of former Washington Local Schools Superintendent Patrick Hickey want him to walk away from the school board.
Hickey attended his first public meeting with the board Thursday evening, fielding angry responses from voters unhappy with his performance as the district's leader.
The critics claim Hickey ran for the school board to soothe his ego after being forced to resign as superintendent in 2015. His ban from school district property remains in place.
The board of education met last night at an American Legion post to accommodate Hickey, who was one of three school board members to abstain from voting on a contract extension for the current superintendent, effectively killing the proposal.
