Snow Emergencies Declared in Lucas, Wood Counties

(Toledo, OH) A wintry mix overnight is leading to snow emergencies all across Northwest Ohio.

Level 2 snow emergencies are now in effect across Northwest Ohio, including Lucas, Wood, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, Erie, and Huron counties.

Snow is expected to taper off this morning, but the precipitation began overnight as freezing rain and sleet, leaving a glaze of ice underneath the snow. Morning commuters will be greeted by sloppy and slick conditions as a result.

There is a growing list of school delays and closings. Toledo Public Schools won't return from holiday break until Tuesday, while today is a teacher in-service day at TPS.
