(Toledo, OH) The TPS deputy superintendent gets a demotion following his drunk driving arrest over the holidays.
The Toledo Public Schools board of education reassigned Brian Murphy to a another administrative post Thursday night, meaning a demotion and a cut in pay. But Murphy won't begin the new job until after serving a ten-day, unpaid suspension.
A Bowling Green police report shows Murphy tried to throw around his political clout during a traffic stop around Christmas, despite police dash cams recording the incident. The 20-year TPS veteran also had to be handcuffed because of aggressive behavior.
Murphy is one of the administrators credited with crafting the TPS transformation plan to improve student outcomes like HS graduation rates.
