Six Weeks for Ohioans to Sign Up for Tax Amnesty

(Columbus, OH) Ohio's tax amnesty program is now underway.

Ohioans have until mid-February to file for forgiveness from state tax collectors-- giving taxpayers and businesses a chance to settle their unreported or under-reported tax debts and pay a reduced amount of interest and avoid owing further penalties.

During the six-week window, eligible Ohioans who pay their delinquencies will only pay half the normal interest and no extra penalties.

The state tax department says Ohio’s last amnesty period offered in 2012 brought in $27 million.
