(Toledo, OH) A blast of arctic temperatures will ring in the new year.
Temperatures are expected to drop to around zero as the new year arrives late Sunday night into Monday morning. Forecasters say with the wind chill, the temp could drop to minus ten to minus 20 degrees early next week.
An advisory could go into effect early in the week and last into Wednesday.
Charges are expected to be filed after a dog was found frozen-to-death on a porch of a home on King Street, near North Hawley Street.
Toledo Area Humane Society officials say officers found the dog curled up, frozen and dead. They're still trying to figure out why the dog was left outside and who will be charged. A malnourished and shivering dog found inside the home was taken to a shelter.
