(Rossford, OH) Rossford City Council rezones farmland hoping to create jobs.
Rossford's mayor won a 4-to-3 council vote, converting nearly 300 acres zoned agricultural into industrial-commercial land near I-75 and the Ohio Turnpike.
A local developer recently told city council there's plenty of interest in the property for manufacturing and warehousing operations, because of its proximity to interstate traffic.
But there remain naysayers on city council who claim Lime City Road won't be able to handle the truck traffic, despite assurances any new developers would be forced to fix the road, not taxpayers.
