TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo Rockets will get a major contributor back for one more season.
Senior wide receiver Cody Thompson announced Tuesday that he will return to the Rockets for a 5th season in 2018. Thompson was given a fifth-year of eligibility by the NCAA on a medical hardship. He broke his leg in October in a game against Eastern Michigan.
Thompson played in five games in 2017 before suffering his injury. He caught 28 passes for 537 yards and four touchdowns. Despite missing most of the season, he still finished third among Rocket receivers, averaging more than 107 receiving yards a game.
