(Springfield Twp., OH) Toledo Metroparks hopes to offer more archery programs.
The Metroparks board is expected to approve a grant application at its year-end meeting, seeking $20,000 from the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
The aim is to obtain more targets and other range equipment to improve its archery shooting range at Westwinds Metropark in Springfield Township.
The grant program is meant to encourage hunters to become more proficient and promote safe hunting and shooting practices, along with safe practice areas.
The Metroparks began offering archery courses at all levels in 2015 after Westwinds first open, but now offers archery programs at multiple metroparks.
