(Gibsonburg, OH) There’s a unique groundbreaking ceremony this weekend in Sandusky County.
Gibsonburg village officials will join Standard Wellness investors Saturday morning to break ground for Northwest Ohio’s first medical marijuana cultivation facility. The group received one of the Level One licenses to set up a medical pot growing and harvesting operation.
Gibsonburg is one of few communities to welcome the jobs and investment that’s resulting from the state’s acceptance of medical marijuana, offering up a 20-acre site in its Clearview Industrial Park.
Construction of a state-of-the-art greenhouse is expected to take seven months following the Saturday morning ceremony. The provider expects to produce 7,000 pound of medical pot within five years with an annual payroll approaching $4.4 million.
