(Columbus, OH) There are now five Northwest Ohio Republicans vying for an open seat in the Ohio House.
Former Napoleon mayor Steve Lankenau, Wauseon pediatrician Dr. Christopher Meyer, and Putnam County GOP chairman Tom Liebrecht of Ottawa are the latest to submit their names for consideration to replace Napoleon Republican Robert McColley as state representative in the 81st House District.
Former state rep Jim Hoops of Napoleon and Leipsic Village administrator Justin Barnhart round out the field of GOP hopefuls.
McColley took over the Ohio Senate seat vacated by Findlay Republican Cliff Hite after a sexual harrassment claim. Ohio House GOP leaders set a deadline of this Friday for interested candidates and expect to swear in a replacement early next year.
