BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University President Mary Ellen Mazey says she's stepping down.
Mazey announced Friday that she will be retiring from her post on December 31. She will stay with the university to assist in the transition for her successor. She also says she will continue to assist with the University's fundraising efforts.
"It's been an absolute joy to lead this great University. I'll be watching with interest to see what's next for BGSU," Mazey said. "While I look forward to this new chapter of my life, I will miss the members of our University family, especially our students. They will always be in my heart."
Mazey has been with the University since July 2011 when she was named the 11th president in the school's history.
