Two Names in Running to Replace State Rep

(Columbus, OH) Names already are surfacing in the bid to replace a state representative.

Napoleon Republican Robert McColley moved from the Ohio House to the state senate this week, sworn in to replace former Findlay GOP senator Cliff Hite, who abruptly resigned in October during a sexual harrassment scandal.

House Republican leaders now are collecting names to appoint McColley's replacement in the 81st district, which represents Williams, Henry, Paulding and part of Fulton County.

Former GOP state rep Jim Hoops put his name in consideration. Since losing a state senate race a decade ago, Hoops has worked in finance at American Municipal Power and as a vice president at Northwest State Community College. Leipsic Village Administrator Justin Barnhart also is seeking the appointment.
