(Toledo, OH) The Toledo Plan Commission today will consider a proposal for a medical marijuana dispensary.
The plan commission will be asked to decide on a special-use permit for a medical marijuana dispensary in a West Toledo neighborhood. The location on West Sylvania Avenue just east of Secor is a former veterinary clinic and would operate much like a doctor's office.
Glass City Alternatives is a local investment group with a Sylvania address and has an agreement to buy the property for about $140,000.
The only other stumbling block is an application approval from state regulators for a dispensary license. Only 60 will be awarded statewide, two in Lucas County. The property is already properly zoned under prior plan commission regulations.
