Noon is the deadline set by the Lucas County Democratic chairman for anyone interested in being appointed Lucas County treasurer, a vacancy created by the election of Wade Kapsukiewicz as Toledo's next mayor.
While no names have officially surfaced yet, the term runs through 2020, so there's expected to be a lot of interest among term-limited Democrats holding local and statewide office. That includes some Toledo city council members and state representatives, as well as the appointed deputy treasurer.
