(Toledo, OH) Some Northwest Ohio National Guard troops come home for the holidays tonight.
About 360 soldiers from the First Battalion, 148th Infantry Regiment based in Walbridge are ending a ten-month tour of duty in the Middle East.
The unit deployed to both Jordan and the United Arab Emirates after mobilization training in Texas. The Ohio National Guard unit has spent a lot of time away from their families since the war on terror began-- deploying six times overseas since 2001. Various parts of the infantry unit have deployed to Iraq twice, Kosovo twice, and Afghanistan in addition to their latest Middle East assignment.
There's a welcome home ceremony at the Stranahan Theater starting at 6 p.m.
