County Official Fired Amid Husband's Criminal Case

(Toledo, OH)  One of Lucas County's top hired officials is out of work as her husband faces child sex-trafficking charges.

Lucas County commissioners voted Tuesday to fire County Administrator Laura Lloyd Jenkins, saying she's no longer the right person for the job.  Jenkins has been on administrative leave since September, when her husband, Pastor Cordell Jenkins, was indicted on federal charges.  She was not charged in the case.

The pastor remains in federal custody, where prosecutors say he is part of teen sex trafficking ring involving two other Toledo pastors.

Attorney Megan Vahey-Casiere take over as the county's top administrator. She once served as the public information officer for late Toledo mayor Jack Ford.
