(Toledo, OH) Lucas County commissioners will take public comment later today about proposed fee hikes for building permits.
The fee increases would raise an extra $820,000 per year to help pay for technology upgrades and improved staffing to better serve contractors.
The county building regulations department issues permits for the townships and all communities except Toledo, Oregon, and Maumee.
The Home Builders Association is backing the fee hikes as necessary. A public hearing starts at 11 a.m. at One Government Center.
