Oregon Administrator Won't Join New Mayor's Team

(Oregon, OH) Oregon's city administrator says he won't leave to join Toledo's new mayor.

Oregon city administrator Mike Beazley has plenty of ties to Toledo, once serving as city council clerk and Lucas County's top administrator. But he'll only help Toledo mayor-elect as a transition team leader and advisor once he takes office.

Mayor-elect Wade Kapsukiewicz has made clear his desire to have Beazley's expertise on the 22nd floor of One Government Center as chief of staff, but Beazley tells The Press newspaper there's too much going on in Oregon to leave now.

Beazley has committed only to help the new mayor assemble his administration. Beazley first took the Oregon job in 2010.
