(Toledo, OH)The Glass City's annual Veteran's Day salute is being held this morning at the University of Toledo.
The 13th annual Veterans Appreciation Breakfast and Resource Fair will be set up at Savage Arena, open to local veterans, military members and their families. There will be a free breakfast and information tables on veteran and military services locally. Waterville Primary School fourth graders will perform military songs, along with entertainment from the UT Concert Choir and Student Jazz Combo.
There will be a ceremonial cake-cutting to celebrate the 242nd anniversary of the Marine Corps. The featured speaker of the 8 to 11 a.m. event will be Marine Corps Major Daniel Wendolowski, who served deployments to Iran, Afghanistan, and Japan during his ten-year military career since graduating the U.S. Naval Academy.
There’s a Veteran’s Day ceremony planned later today at Lourdes University. Retired naval commander Meghan Michael will be featured speaker outside the Franciscan Center. During her 20-year career, she flew over 15-hundred hours in military aircraft. The ceremony starts at 4 p.m.
