(Columbus, OH) Ohio government leaders are launching an ad campaign to reduce prescribing painkillers.
The so-called “Take Charge Ohio” public awareness campaign is targeting those who prescribe pain medication, their patients, and the public.
The $1 million campaign includes TV, radio, newspaper and online ads. Funding from a federal grant also will pay for billboards, social media postings and targeted emails.
Ohio saw more than 4,000 overdose deaths last year, many linked to heroin and synthetic opioids like fentanyl.
