(Columbus, OH) The parents of murdered Maumee native Reagan Tokes are hoping a bill named in her memory prevents other parents from feeling their pain.
The couple testified Wednesday before Ohio House and Senate committees for a measure that would overhaul the state's rules on sentencing and post-release monitoring. Lisa Tokes told the committees what happened to her daughter could have been prevented.
The man accused of raping and killing the Ohio State University student in February had a long list of violent infractions in prison and was not being closely monitored by parole officers.
The former Anthony Wayne High School student athlete was found in a Columbus-area park naked and nearly frozen a day after she disappeared last winter.
