(Whitehouse, OH) Work is underway in Whitehouse to get an injured bald eagle flying again.
The female eagle is being cared for at Nature's Nursery after being found in the Portage River earlier this month. Officials say it appears the bird was injured in a fight over territory.
The eagle will be released back to the wild after being gradually moved to an outdoor enclosure and flight cage.
Nature's Nursery also nursed an eaglet back to health a few years ago, then released the bird on New Year's Day at Maumee Bay State Park.
