(Toledo, OH) Saturday is National Drug Takeback Day across Northwest Ohio.
Families across the region will be able to dispose of unwanted and expired prescription medications on Saturday. Police and fire stations, as well as some local pharmacies will have drug drop boxes available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for people who want to keep their pills from becoming abused or out of the hands of children.
There will be more than 250 drop-off locations across Ohio. According to a statement from Senator Rob Portman's office, four out of five people addicted to opioids start out using prescription drugs.
