Ohio Senator Proposes State Bump Stock Ban

COLUMBUS, Ohio - An Ohio Senator from Cincinnati is introducing a bill to ban bump stocks in Ohio.

Senator Cecil Thomas (D-North Avondale) calls it common sense legislation.

"I know that the dope boys are going to go out and get those bump stocks every chance they get because now they are aware that they can take their semi-automatic weaponry and modify that to do what we saw in Vegas," Thomas says.

Thomas asks how we as a society minimize the chances of something like what happened in Vegas from happening again. The senator says being a former police officer, if he had encountered someone with a weapon outfitted with a bump stock, he would not have stood a chance.
