Recreational Public Health Advisory Lifted

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department has lifted the recreational public health advisory that was issued for the Maumee River.

The Department had issued the advisory on September 21 as a result of growing blue-green algae blooms in the river. Water monitoring has confirmed that the blooms are no longer present.

Health officials still advise recreation visitors to always be alert to signs of algae blooms in all public waters.
