(Bowling Green, OH) The Bowling Green State University president is getting a healthy raise.
BGSU's board of trustees have voted to give President Mary Ellen Mazey a 3-percent pay hike after her annual review. That increases her annual salary to $424,000 per year. But the perks in an age of soaring student debt may be even better-- the contribution of 15 percent of her salary to her deferred compensation account as required by her contract, plus a bonus of $50,000 to that same account for "exceptional performance."
Trustees say the campus president has raised the university's public profile, increased student opportunities, while securing strong student enrollment, increased student retention, and raised more private support for the university.
