(Toledo, OH) U.S. Senator Rob Portman is in Toledo to pitch a plan he says will boost job creation in the region's auto industry.
The Cincinnati-area Republican will stop at the Toledo Jeep Plant today to talk to workers about tax reforms that will benefit manufacturers. Portman told workers at the General Motors Powertrain plant Thursday that lower taxes overseas make the U.S. auto industry less competitive.
His reform package is designed to spur hiring and boost wages.
Ohio's GOP senator is on a three-day tour of auto manufacturing facilities in Ohio. Portman is co=chairman of the Senate auto caucus on Capitol Hill.
