(Spencer Twp., OH) Public health officials are offering a series of tai chi classes starting today.
The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department is hosting a 12-week session of beginner classes in Spencer Township, aiming the tai chi classes at golden-agers over 60.
Why would public health officials do such a thing? The health commissioner says the courses are a way for minorities and others to reduce heart health disparities in the community with low-impact exercise that can be done by all ages and fitness levels.
The classes run 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. every Tuesday over the next three months at the Spencer Township Neighborhood Center just off Angola Road.
